The symbolic act of Water Baptism is a step of obedience declaring Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, and that your sins are forgiven. Water baptism demonstrates your faith in Jesus as the one you’ve fully surrendered your life to.
Going under the water represents your old life, when you come out of the water represents your brand-new life with Jesus Christ. Your old self has joined Christ in His death, burial, and has now been raised to new life! You are free!
